Enjoying the 4th of July!!

Camping Out!

Our First Camping Trip!!
We had a wonderful time camping in the Los Padres mountains. The girls and I hiked, looked for bears, and tried to avoid bugs. It was beautiful and the girls who had never been camping in a tent before had a fabulous time.

Yeah it's been awhile...Hang on sports fans!!

They let me be a chaperone for Payton's 3rd grade class. We went to The Museum of Natural Science in L.A. Very fun although Payton ditched me as soon as we got there.

So Kyndal thought jumping off the top of an 8 foot slide was a good idea. The people at Urgent care are lovely folks. No broken bones just bad sprain. Hard on me to have to carry her everywhere because gone are the days of the stroller. Family size pack of ice packs are not only for her ankle but for my back as well. good times!

My new favorite four letter word...GOLF!

I'm playing golf now. Yep, bit by the golfing bug. I enjoy the challenge of the game...kinda. Just to be outdoors is lovely. I can't believe I like it so much. Good company and decent weather you will most definitely find on the links.

Feburary 5th 2008 Corben Reed Hartnett was born. TEN pounds! This kid is so rad I can hardly contain myself. He totally looks like Caleb. However acting like Caleb that remains to be seen. Kathleen has got Corben on a routine that will ensure that he reaches the ultimate level of RADNESS! WooHoo Caleb and Kathleen!

Christmas 2007

Christmas was wonderful. Family, friends, and massive quanities of food always make the holiday season exceptional. This year the Hartnett / Hampton Crews headed to Houston, Texas to visit Caleb and Kathleen and Baby Corben (due Feb. 7th). We kept ourselves very busy.

We visited the Johnson Space Center. Very exciting!

We went to Kemah Boardwalk and then to Galvastan Island. We visited The Galleria and had an extraordinary New Years at John and Susan's house (Katleen's parents).

Dad, Caleb and I armed with our "Shiner Bock" beers went to the Texas Bowl at Reliant Stadium (where the Texans play). We watched a good game in incredible seats. Eight rows up from the action.

We ate Barbeque several times. We ate seafood, smoked turkey, crackers with cream cheese and raspberry chipotle sauce, and plate after plate of goodies. Oh yes it was ideal. The designated game room housed a pool table, t.v. (so of course non-stop football going on), a puzzle we worked on nightly and a special area for the girls to do art work and colorings.

Oh and I can't forget the Pro Bass Shop. WOW!
It was a fabulous time with family and friends. Thanks to Caleb and Kathleen and Kathleen's parents, John and Susan for making our Houston expeirence wonderful.

Hard to say goodbye!

The Hartnett Family has lost an important member of their family. After 17 years of companionship Missy Hartnett went to see Jesus on January 3rd. We are very sad but know that Missy will be holding down the "Heaven Fort" until we meet her again. She will be joining Scooter, Black Top, Molly, Chopper and several other fine pets that have enriched our lives.
We love you Missy!

The Beauty of Family.

The beauty of family. I can go 10 years without seeing my cousin and when we finally get together it is like we haven't missed a moment.

...started where we left off!

Back at good 'ol La Verne! It is an indescribable feeling I get as soon as I exit off Foothill Blvd. in La Verne. It is a mixture of emotions. A mixture of wonderful memories, a longing to be carefree as I once was while living at ULV. I know you know the feeling. It is amazing but I feel on the brink of giddiness. Silly huh?! Again I know you know that feeling. To go back to a place where Everything revolved around your friends, sorority, drama, school activities or the noon time Days of Our Lives showing in our room. So when I went to Homecoming recently we revisited all the places that occupied our time. Cherryl and Martha reminisced about Campus Times. Heidi and I laughed about the shenanigans we got into and we all reminisced about the bread sticks at Warehouse. What a wonderful period in time.

Standing in the stairway in Wing 5 again was so sweet. Here is the place where friendships were made, where sorority politics took place, drama about anything, Boone's and Zimas, 90210, Melrose Place ... the list goes on and on. At homecoming I was surrounded by my favorite people in the world, with the exception of Shannon not being there, it was the perfect day.
